CLUB WATER RULES

 

Captains pool

  1. There is no night fishing allowed unless members of the Captains pool night syndicate. Members must not arrive during the hours of darkness or before 6am. Day members are allowed to leave up to 7pm during the winter.  i.e. After clocks go back up until clocks go forward.  In summertime day only members must be off the premises by sunset.

  2. It is preferable to keep the gates locked at all times, but it is essential that all gates are locked before leaving. Combination locks to be scrambled to avoid giving away the combination.

  3. Only club members & their paid-up guests with a valid guest permit are allowed in the wood. Non-members are not allowed on the pool side of the dam fence or within the perimeter of the fence through the wood. Members are asked to challenge anyone trespassing around the pool.

  4. No more than 3 rods may be in use at any one time provided that a valid E.A license is held. The use of a spod rod is allowed.

  5. The use of bait boats and any form of braided main line is not allowed.

  6. The use of one rod only is allowed from the peg nearest the inlet (furthest peg from carpark) & 2 rods only in the adjacent 2 pegs to that. This is for the safety of the stock. Only one peg to be fished at any one time. Please do not cast too close to the island as it is very snaggy.

  7. Float fishing only is allowed from the peg just beyond the bridge beyond the car park as marked.

 

The Lenchford. River Severn

  1. The gate from the pub car park must be kept locked at all times.

  2. Member’s cars may be parked in the pub car park on weekdays only. At weekends cars must be parked in the slip road adjacent to the car park.

  3. Club members have the sole rights of access along the riverbank. Members are asked to challenge anyone trespassing near the river.

 

Ballingham & Sheepwash.   River Wye

  1. The club has the right to coarse fish only during the close season for Salmon.  i.e. October 18th to March 2nd the following year. The water may not be visited under any circumstances outside of these dates.

  2. Cars may be parked on the grass verge adjacent to the railway bridge.

 

Holders pool  near Lenchford

  1. The gate into the field must be locked at all times. Scramble lock code after operation. Take care when leaving as restricted view around bend.

  2. Cars must be parked in a sensible manner. During wet periods park just inside the gate but without restricting access.

  3. No dogs to be taken to this venue as sheep are often in this field.

  4. Fishing is full members only at this venue. Night fishing is for night syndicate members only

  5. Guests are allowed with a valid, prepaid guest permit.

 

General rules

  1. Members must not take any firearms to club waters

  2. No litter to be left at any club water or parking area to include line, shot, teabags, baitbags & tins, and cigarette ends

  3. All gates to be kept closed & locked where fitted.

  4. All members must carry the current club membership card with them when visiting club waters. If you are unable to produce your card when challenged by a card-carrying member or owner of the fishery then you must leave the fishery immediately. Every member is a bailiff.

  5. Great care must be taken when fishing from platforms. The club cannot accept any responsibility for any loss, damage or injury however caused.

  6. Members are allowed to take a guest with them provided that they are in possession of a guest permit obtained in advance from the secretary, treasurer or chairman. That member is responsible for the actions of the guest and to see that the guest abides by the club’s rules.

  7. All fish must be returned to the water alive ensuring minimum stress is inflicted on the fish.   

  8. When using club waters, members and guests are expected to act in a sportsman like manner and not in any way that might bring the clubs good name into disrepute.

  9. From time to time there may be a contest booked on club waters. Members are usually informed of these match dates well in advance. Members must move if fishing from a peg required for a contest.

  10. All our fish stocks must be treated with the utmost respect. The use of an unhooking mat or cradle of minimum size 3ft 6” x 2ft 6” (1.1m x 0.8m) is compulsory when fishing specifically for Carp.  Barbel must not be retained in keepnets unless it is a bonafide contest. Fish of any species should not be retained at all for any longer than necessary during periods of hot weather and or low oxygen levels.  It is recommended to apply an antiseptic ointment or gel to any hook wound such as Bonjela or any commercially available formulation through the tackle trade.

  11. Under NO circumstances should the capture of any fish from club waters be publicized in the press, at slide shows or via any other media. (This includes facebook, twitter etc.) Photos may be submitted for inclusion on the clubs website at the discretion of the committee.

  12. The committee has the right to refuse entry into the club with no explanation given.

  13.  Membership priority is given to friends and family of existing members before anyone unknown is admitted into the club.

  14.  Membership each year is by invitation. An uninvited existing member has the right to appeal to the committee

  15. Any member found breaking any rule will be immediately expelled from the club but will have the right to appeal to the committee. After expulsion that member cannot fish club waters until the appeal is heard by the committee.
